Summary

Home + History Las Vegas kicks off with the grand opening of the #UncommonModern Photo Exhibit.

Description

Home + History Las Vegas 2018 kicks off with the grand opening of Nevada Preservation’s #UncommonVegas Photo Exhibit. The reception features photos by local photographer Kirsten Clarke, showcasing some of the region’s lessor known mid-century buildings. The exhibit is the final result of a local crowdsourced photo survey, an Instagram project which resulted in over 700 photos of extant mid-century buildings around the Las Vegas Valley. Several volunteer photographers who helped document the mid-century landscape of Las Vegas will be recognized during the reception as well. The reception includes complimentary beer, wine, and hors d’ oeuvres.

Proceeds from the exhibit reception will be used to help fund the final documentation phase of Nevada Preservation’s Uncommon Vegas project. Funds will be used to create a professional publication, documenting the location, exhibit photography, and current condition of the buildings for generations to come.
