History at Home: Ferris Bueller's Day Off Movie Viewing Party

Pop up that popcorn and put on those comfy clothes! Oh. Wait. You ALREADY have the comfy clothes on!

Nevada Preservation is hosting a watch party featuring Ferris Bueller's Day Off and our very own executive director, Heidi Swank. Join us for an evening of movie fun, replete with architectural commentary, 1980s styles, not to mention all that BIG HAIR! The first 15 people to register will get to play Bueller Bingo with two tickets to the Vintage Vegas Home Tour on September 13, 2020 as the prize!

Of course, the whole watch party will be done online with a fancy chat box in which everyone can participate. SOOOO! In order to participate, you will need to do some prep in advance. Luckily, we have some easy step-by-step instructions for how to join the party. Just scroll on down!

Before you register, please make sure you meet the following two requirements:

You have a Netflix Account

You will use the Chrome Browser to view the movie

If you have never used Netflix's Watch Party feature, be sure you give it a try much in advance of the event. Scroll down for step-by-step instructions on how to install the browser extension. At about 5:45pm on the 19th, you will receive an email from Heidi inviting you to the watch party.

If you have questions about Netflix Watch Party or installing the extension, call Mariana at (855) 968-3973, Ext. 703 before 4pm on April 19.

We will not answer calls for assistance with the extension and the movie after 4pm.

Step-By-Step Instructions:

1. Log in to your Netflix account via a web browser (not through an app)
2. Download the Google Chrome Browser. Visit  https://www.google.com/chrome/ 
   1. Click on the blue "Download Chrome" button
   2. Open and download link. Follow instructions.
3. Open Google Chrome and visit the Netflix Party website at https://www.netflixparty.com/ 
   1. Click the "Install Netflix Party" located in the top right corner
   2. You'll be redirected to the Google Chrome web store page to download the extension. Click "Add to Chrome."
   3. A pop up box will open. Click "Add Extension."
4. At 5:45pm, you will receive an email with a link from Nevada Preservation to watch the movie! Click on the link, and you will be directed to Netflix.
5. In Netflix, click on the "NP" icon in the upper right of your computer screen and join the chat!
