Description

The Nevada Preservation Foundation was made the steward of the more than 5,000 architectural drawings of residential and commercial buildings that were designed starting in 1946 by renowned mid-century architect Hugh E. Taylor, architect of the Desert Inn Casino.

Join NPF Architectural Historian Mariana Ruiz for a short talk on the progress of the project. You can also be one of the first visitors to view our new online exhibits showcasing a sample of these mid-century architectural treasures.

Virtual Exhibits:

Fallout Shelters in the Atomic Era: An exhibit showcasing five private residences designed by Hugh E. Taylor in the Las Vegas Valley between 1961-1965 that feature fallout shelters during the height of the cold war.

Women-Owned (Women as social-economic players in postwar America): An exhibit showcasing five Hugh Taylor designs commissioned by women in the Las Vegas Valley between 1955 and 1962, including private homes and commercial buildings.

This important historic preservation project is made possible by the Las Vegas Centennial Commission Grant Program. This grant program is made possible through the purchase of the Las Vegas Centennial license plate. Get yours today at your local DMV!
